Image

A British drug suspect, arrested in Pattaya on November 2 before being extradited to the United Kingdom in January, has been tested for the coronavirus. Thai authorities confirmed the identity of 31 year old Mark Rumble, who was sent back to the UK just over two weeks ago. An official for the Corrections Department says a medical check prior to the extradition on January 27 didn’t reveal any illness.

“His body temperature was 36.6C and the lung x-ray was normal.”

Rumble was taken to HMP Bullingdon prison in Oxfordshire, according to Sky News. Prisoners there are now being kept in isolation, with access restricted to the wing of the complex where they are being held.

On the same day Rumble and another prisoner were being tested, a British honeymooner who was removed from the Diamond Princess cruise ship, currently quarantined off Japan nin Yokohama Harbour over coronavirus fears, announced his first test for the virus was negative. Passenger Alan Steele posted on Facebook:

“Just received great news. My test showed negative to the virus and have now been swabbed for second test. If that comes back negative I get released.”

They may only stay - and spend - for a day but given the dire state of tourism at the moment it is better than nothing.

The latest visitor to Nathon Bay on Samui was the Costa Fortuna.  As the name perhaps implies, the tourists on board are quite well-heeled.

Boats ferried 3,000 Germans, Italians and Americans to the town for shopping and tours around the holiday island. They were met with thermometers and gels as COVID-19 fears abound. And the navy boarded the ship to investigate.

Suda, a tourism operator, told Siam Rath that there may be no Chinese coming anymore but the Europeans were more than welcome - even if it was just for one day.

Company owner Sanchai echoed the sentiments with both calling on the government to ensure that more cruise liners visit Thailand and make up the shortfall being experienced in these difficult, virus affected times.

Image

Of the 7,088 vehicles tested nationwide September 2-11 in attempt to improve the standard of public transport, as many as 1,020 have failed.

The department ordered land transport offices nationwide to conduct a full check-up of public transport vehicles and drivers, DLT director-general Peerapol Thavornsubhajaroen said. “The check-up campaign is expected to take three months to complete,” he said. “During the first week (September 2-11), we already performed checks on 7,088 vehicles and found that 1,020 of them failed the evaluation.”

Peerapol said 1,212 of the tested vehicles were regular route vans, 2,381 were non-regular route vans, 2,219 regular route buses, 838 non-regular route buses, and 438 minibuses.

Vehicles failed the evaluation mostly because of a low-quality brake system, excessive black smoke emissions or an unauthorized modification to engines and gear systems, he said. “We ordered the owners to fix their failed vehicles and bring them back for another check-up within 15 days.”

There was better news concerning the public transport drivers, with three of 10,236 drivers failing the exam.

“We have already advised them how to prepare themselves before taking a remedial exam.”

The director-general said the vehicle tests include checks of the engine, vehicle body integrity, brake system, wheel alignment, lights, smoke emissions, acoustics, as well as ensuring there were no gas leaks.

The physical check-up for drivers include physical fitness, color blindness, reactions, eyes (depth and width perception), as well as a test on their general suitability as a public transport service provider.

Operators of public transport can bring their vehicles and drivers for a check-up at all land transport branches daily from 8.30am to 4.30pm, said Peerapol.

She told hospital staff that she ‘fell’ on the cucumber. She says she fell down in her house and a cucumber just happened to be on the spot she fell and it “simply slipped inside her”.

“It was just an accident.”

The story was reported on Thai TV by two perfectly straight-faced reporters.

They reported that the hospital staff didn’t believe her story but helped rescue the cucumber and relieve the woman of her apparently unplanned discomfort.

The woman is from Bangkok and the name of the hospital wasn’t disclosed. You can bet that there will be a few unauthorised pics and videos going around the Thai internet today.

The story was also reported in Singapore Uncensored so it must be true.

We don’t have any current reports about what happened to the cucumber.

Image

The proposal was among a swathe of measures proposed yesterday at a meeting of the Transport Ministry to divvy up jobs and responsibilities among senior personnel.

Saksayam wants several matters dealt with within the next month to improve safety, ease economic pressure on the public and improve the convenience of the people.

One measure is to increase the speed limit on all four lane roads to 120 kilometer per hour. This would mean motorways and expressways, said Manager.

Saksayam said that this would improve traffic flow. Most accidents, he said, were on two lane roads and due to bad driving.

Some portions of roads like the Chonburi Motorway already have a 120 kmph limit but this would apply to all sections and all big roads.

The police would be consulted in order to effect change in this matter.

In addition the minister wants roadworks on Rama 2 Road and elsewhere completed quickly, wants to see action on PM 2.5 emissions from lorries and public transport vehicles and proposes a ban on all 10 wheel up trucks in Bangkok and Phuttamonthon except for midnight to 4 am.

A reduction in expressway, motorway and tollway fees is also being proposed to ease the economic burden on the public. This will be 5 - 10 baht.

The minister has also promised that the issue of Grab Taxi will be resolved in three months.

The Chidchob family run a Moto GP track in their NE stronghold of Buriram.

"Non" (not surprisingly an assumed name) fell in love with Bai Por - she was just adorable and why wouldn't he believe her profile.....

Their romance continued online for more than 2 years. He sent her 2.3 million baht in dozens of transfers.

But he never met her in the flesh.

Every time he suggested a meeting she was busy or sick. He was strung along but it was true love....

Then he realized that the picture of Bai Por she used on her profile was not her at all. It was really a beautiful woman he saw on the Line application called Nong Gee.

His hopes and dreams were shattered - and he went to the Phlap Phla Chai police in Bangkok to register a complaint. A warrant for online fraud was issued.

Police went to Chiang Mai but were not in time to arrest Bai Por - real name Thippawan, a 32 year old rotund woman from Cha-Am.

They followed her trail to Phayao where she was arrested at the home of her boyfriend's mother in Mae Jo district.

Last night she was flown back to Bangkok to face the music.

Image

The man became so relaxed that he started to close his eyes, but then suddenly the rollers in the chair pulled him in. Before he knew, his head and neck were trapped inside the electric massage chair. The chair did not have a safety system and the rollers kept on moving, the man was being strangled. He couldn’t breathe and no matter how much he struggles, he couldn’t get out.

Because these electric massage chairs are placed in public space, they can often be overused or overlooked without the proper mechanical care and check-ups that they require. In this case, a man came very close to death from a massage chair in the mall. The man was tired of walking in the mall and saw the massage chair. Because of the convenience, he decided to have a short massage in the electric massage chair.

Image

Passersby in the mall saw what was happening and rushed in to help him. At first, one person tried to pull him out, but the machine was too strong. Other good citizens came rushing in and together grabbed onto the man and successfully pulled him out. The man had no air and fainted, but luckily he was still breathing.

Image

The rescue team was called and paramedics came in to help the man. The good citizens that came to help the man were greatly relieved when they found out he had survived, but they will forever remember when they helped save a man who was almost killed by a massage chair.

Image

The chair, in this case, was used so many times and left without proper care, the support layer between the back and the massage rollers were no good. When the man sat on the chair, his neck became trapped in the rollers that pulled him inside the chair where the motor was. This is a good lesson to always check electric massage chairs and to never trust an electric appliance.

He claims innocence of his actions but Thai Rath has discovered a pattern of suspicious behavior over many years.

The latest picture is of a woman with her leg up showing her underwear. The driver claimed he was taking a selfie but it was clear that his intention was to show the passenger.

He claimed that it was just to prove that he had picked up a passenger - there was nothing immoral in what he was doing. He claimed there were two sides to every story.

He even went to Phayathai police to file a complaint for defamation against certain people who said he was a pervert.

But Thai Rath found out this was just the latest in a series of posts by the same driver.

In a video they said that four years ago he posted a filmed clip criticizing some students who were eating in his cab.

Then in 2016 he posted pictures of a foreign couple making out in the back of his cab.

The swallows - a protected species - would go to the building and the owner would harvest their nests to make the expensive "bird's nest" soup craved by many Asians.

Neighbors had complained to the government watchdog Damrongtham about the noises at night used to attract the birds and the smell from polluted water that came from the building.

Yesterday morning Saengpratheep Khunathimaphan from Damrongtham led a group of military, police, environmentalists and animal experts to the property in Soi Ran "Big Phone".

A notice was left on the gate threatening further legal action.

The owner and the manager were nowhere to be found - they had apparently flown the nest.

A German man who lives next door told Banmuang that if the problem isn't sorted out within two months he will move elsewhere.

The German man said he is sick to death of the problems caused by the birds, which include noise at all hours and a foul smell.

He said that the birds shouldn't be allowed to nest in a building in a residential area.

Image

Just a few members of the squad uncovered what hundreds of police and top brass had failed to do in Walking Street the other week.

They busted the Coming Bar in Soi 6 last night. They even found evidence of underage sex.

The raid came after the Ronnasit Foundation went to the government watchdog Damrongtham with their suspicions and tips.

It was found that sex was for sale at the bar that has 18 hostesses.

Bar fines could be paid and the customers could take the women for sex upstairs to special rooms or away from the bar.

One of the girls was found to be underage - aged just 17.

Image
INN reported that the bar is owned by a consortium comprising Taiwanese, Chinese and Thai nationals.

Charges relating to human trafficking, prostitution and procurement of women for underage sex have been made.

INN said the 18 staff were interviewed separately to gather further evidence with which to prosecute the owners.

The police were pictured taking credit for the bust at a press conference.

A couple of weeks ago some 200 officials including top policemen went on a tour of bars in Walking Street looking for prostitution and drugs.

Thaivisa reported that they found precisely nothing - a story that was then reported on more fully by the Thai press and widely shared amid much ridicule by the Thai and expatriate public.

She begins to give the man a massage but as the clip continues the pair can be seen engaging in various sexual positions.

In its report, Manager shared a pixelated version of the clip, along with several photos.

Officials said that police are yet to receive an official report about the clip, which appears to have been shared on the Line app, but they have made some preliminary investigations.

They said that the clip was filmed in several locations in downtown Chiang Mai.

They also said it was absolutely wrong that the clip was filmed in Thailand, for various reasons.

Firstly, the clip damages the good reputation Thailand and Chiang Mai has as a destination popular with tourists.

Secondly, after watching the clip, foreign tourists might mistake traditional Thai massage for something sexual or inappropriate

Officials said they will visit the locations in the clip in a bid to track down those involved.

Image

This so-called healing card has proved to be a big hit in Ubol Rattana district’s Ban Saladin, with people willing to pay Bt1,100 to Bt1,500 in exchange for the promise of pain relief.

Tawee Peer-in, who has been selling these pieces of plastic, swears by their effectiveness. Users are instructed to either tap the card on the painful area or place a glass of water on the card, count to 10 before drinking the water, or to drink the water after dipping the card in it.

Tawee said this piece of plastic had helped ease his back pain, so he decided to register as a “member” and sell the card himself. However, he declined to provide more details on how the card is marketed.

Customer Thongsri Wongchaiwat, 66, said she bought the card after doctors failed to cure her backache and remove water from her ear, adding that her condition has improved by 50 per cent since she placed the card on her back. However, she admits that she is still taking the medication prescribed for her condition by the hospital.

The card has become so popular, that some people from neighbouring villages called on the authorities to check the so-called miraculous healing powers of the plastic and hunt down those involved in the business.

After learning that villagers are spending good money on these cards, Peera took some for examination and found that this product was not legally registered.

Initial investigation also revealed that the selling process was like a Ponzi scheme, as the sellers persuade people to register as members and get them to convince others to sign up.

Peera has called on the authorities to further scrutinise this business.

Police said he had not unplugged the pump.

A video on Sanook showed his Thai wife lighting incense saying goodbye to her husband.

Mr Werrer (name transliterated from Thai) was found by the pump and a 2,000 liter water container.

His right hand had burns and there was a monkey wrench and pliers by the body.

Warunee, 56, his wife said they had been pottering about the garden before her husband decided to mend the pump that had been broken for two days. She said he liked to do odd jobs around the house.

She found him lying dead a while later and alerted neighbors.

Muang district police said that he had not unplugged the pump before attempting repairs and had likely been electrocuted. An autopsy has been ordered.

Warunee said that the couple met more than ten years ago in Koh Samui where she was working as a traditional Thai masseuse.

They got married and later moved into the house in her hometown five years ago.

Christopher Faust's head was covered in a red bag and there was green duct tape binding from the neck up to the nose. The roll of tape was still attached.

He had been dead between one and two days in the room that has it's own private swimming pool.

There were no signs of a struggle or theft. Items such as a laptop computer, money, credit cards and passport were all in place, reported Thai Rath

There were two glasses half filled with a liquid on a table two meters from the victim. Two bags similar to the one covering his head were found by the bathroom.

Pol Capt Sarawut Kittireuangrayap investigating found that Mr Faust had checked in to stay from the 7th to the 16th of June.

Everything appeared normal according to staff - on Sunday he had ordered food in his room but had not been seen since.

Police are giving weight to the theory that he committed suicide - there were bills for the duct tape in the room.

They are checking the purchase of the tape and the CCTV at the hotel and an autopsy has been ordered at Krabi Hospital.

Image

Pol Col Phadol Chandon of the Economic Crime Suppression said Thamolwan Konthong, 32, was arrested at a house on Soi Kanchanapisek 39 in Dok Mai sub-district in Bangkok’s Prawet district on Monday.

Phadol said Thamolwan was arrested after the owner of the company in Samut Prakan where she used to work filed a complaint with the Economic Crime Suppression Division that a company credit card had been stolen.

The company owner only realised in early May that the credit card had been missing since late 2017, Phadol said. During that time, company accountants thought the boss was using the card so paid the bills to the issuer, Kasikorn Bank.

Phadol said Thamolwan had been using up the monthly limit of Bt500,000 since late 2017, causing Bt6 million in losses to the company.

According to the credit card bill, Thamolwan visited a gold shop in Samut Prakan more than 50 times, spending Bt100,000 to Bt200,000 at a time on gold ornaments and bars.

Police say she also used the card for stays at luxury hotels, paying between Bt20,000 and Bt80,000 per night, for first-class travel on domestic and international flights, and to buy smartphones and luxury-brand bags and clothes.

Police who made the arrest also discovered booty from the year-long spending spree piled up at Thamolwan’s home. Among the items they seized were gold bars weighing 1.216 kilos, a gold necklace of 30.4 grams, a car, four smartphones, a GoPro action camera, a 55-inch TV, a notebook computer, an amplifier, and luxury purses and handbags.

Police say Thamolwan confessed to stealing the credit card out of the anger after she was fired, then using it to live a life of luxury.

Image

Police officers were dispatched to a house in Bueng Khong Long, Bueng Kan after three female residents called the police to help them remove the reptile from their front door.

Once officers arrived at the scene, the suspect was found catching insects flocking around a lamp above the front door.

Although the gecko did not show any signs of hostility, it had still managed to frighten residents and prevent them from getting into the house.

Senior Sgt. Maj. Montri Nanam was able to arrest the gecko swiftly.

“I’m not scared of geckos,” Montri said. “I waited until it was engrossed by insects, went behind its back, seized its head, and removed it from the door.”

Netizens on Facebook page Thailand Police Story, where the story was first reported, praised the officers for coming to the aid of distressed citizens. Some, however, blamed the residents for overreacting.

“Is that your duty? Your duty is to arrest thieves. Leave geckos to the responsibility of their husbands,” Nilubon Sahassanon wrote.

Officers have not released the details of the residents who called them at the time of publication.

The gecko has been released into the wild, according to the police. It is not clear whether the gecko was charged with trespassing at night.

Image

They wanted him to turn the meter on, he explained, and so he got cross.

Thanadech Thanathirapong, 51, was meant to take the ladies - who had been drinking - from a Rachada shop to Samut Prakarn on Monday. Instead of doing that he took them to a quiet soi off the route  - Viphawadee Rangsit 8 - and attacked them.

He took their Samsung smart phones worth collectively more than 50,000 baht and left them battered and bruised. He later sold the phones in  Huay Kwang for 5,000 baht each.

A member of the public helped the victims and police were able to make an arrest within three days at Thanadaech's room in Inthamara 3 in Phayathai district.

The driver denied that he planned the attack saying he was angry that they wanted him to turn on the meter.

Yesterday the victims presented flowers to the police in appreciation of the quick arrest. They said their wounds were now healing and they felt much better - especially knowing their assailant was in custody.

They felt lucky as their injuries could have been a lot worse.

Pol Maj-Gen Samran Nuanma thanked the good Samaritan who helped the ladies and the police and advised the public and tourists that 191 was the number to call 24 hours.

Meanwhile it has emerged that this was not the first time Thanadech had stolen from a passenger.

In a previous incident in Phrapradaeng he fooled a passenger into giving him a push before driving off with 200,000 baht in valuable that the passenger had left in the car.

She hanged the couple's two year old son from a beam in the house then hanged herself.

Police who arrived at the house in the Klong Toei estate in Sanam Chai Khet, Chachoengsao found 26 year old "Neung" and 2 year old "Song" (assumed names) dangling from the ends of nylon cord.

Decomposition had set in and they had been dead about three days. A plastic chair was also in the room.

Neung's mother said they lived with her and the woman's husband at a property next door.

Her daughter's husband was a serial philanderer who had many wives and was always out. He had acquired the property next door so that his mistress could move in.

Neung was so upset about this arrangement that she was in a state of constant stress. She left the house three days ago and did not return. The mother imagined that she had gone to stay with friends elsewhere to help relieve her stress.

The bodies of her daughter and grandson were found when the previous owner of the next door property came to retrieve some items they had left behind.

Daily News reported that when the husband arrived and saw what had happened he was smitten by grief.

Neung's mother said she would not press any charges in the matter.

Image

The incident happened yesterday evening at a Rocket Festival in Nong Rua sub-district of Nong Bua Lamphu province in Thailand's north east.

A video on the Channel 3 news showed villagers running for their lives amid smoke and fire. They reported that 17 had been injured five seriously.

Thai Rath reported that as spectators were looking at a Bang Fai Laan (Million Rocket) a Bang Fai Saen (100,000 Rocket) was set off accidentally in a tent and headed for the crowd.

The rocket was being prepared by the Song Phee Nong team from Sri Bun Reuang district around 5 pm.

Dead at the scene was 60 year old Noorit Chaising who was directly impacted by the rocket. People as young as 18 and as old as 78 were listed among the injured.

The rocket had a diameter of 6 inches, its gunpowder chamber was three meters long and tail nearly ten meters long said Thai Rath.

The owner of the rocket fled the scene and was being hunted by police.

Governor of Nong Bua Lamphu Chaithawat Niamsiri called for a full investigation and help for the victims.

The local district chief cancelled the remainder of the festival.

Thaivisa notes that rocket festivals are held all over the north east of Thailand. Huge rockets are set off into the sky by teams competing for prizes.

The tradition is based on beliefs that the god of the rains - Phayathaen - needs to be woken up to send the rains so that crops can grow at the start of the rice planting season.

Four people were killed at Yasothon in 1999 when a rocket turned back into the crowd from the launchpad.

In 2006 at the same venue - Thailand's biggest attended by thousands - a Bang Fai Laan whistled over the heads of spectators before destroying a tire repair shop next to a gas station.

No one was hurt as the owner of the shop was in the toilets.

Other accidents and deaths have occurred over the years at other festivals.

Rocket Festivals are a must see tourist attraction in Thailand though all come with a warning about the danger involved in watching home made rockets filled with gunpowder.

Crowds are always told to keep back but this latest incident clearly caught all by surprise.

Luke Benjamin Thornton, 37, tried to stop a fight between several local men and some tourists and was beaten unconscious with a wooden club and kicks by a pack of Thai men.

Image

The men have now been caught. They said he shouldn't have interfered in a fight between grown men - so he needed to be taught a lesson.

The incident happened in the street in Pai on May 20th. Daily News reported that a group of tourists were in the road when some drunk Thai men arrived on motorcycles and an argument developed outside Pai Withayakhan School. The Thai men had been trying to get by and there had been a collision.

The  argument turned into a fist fight. Mr Thornton went to help the tourists and was then set upon himself.

His Thai wife Saifon Petchkrajang, who went to the media for justice after the attack, told reporters that he had raised his hands in a wai to appeal for his life.

But he had been kicked and beaten unconscious and left for dead as the gang fled the scene.

He was taken to Chiang Mai Ram Hospital with a fractured skull and eye socket and other facial injuries. He was still in hospital and suffering from double vision when he was visited by Pol Col Suwan Tenphitak of the Mae Hong Son provincial police and a Pai police officer.

Saifon claimed that relatives of the attackers had been in touch to threaten the victim not to prosecute - or their lives would be in danger.

Daily News later reported that Pai police had arrested three men. One had a name that indicated he was probably a person of mixed race.

They are: Anuphon Kongpithee, 35, from Lampang, Saenpetch Robert Porter, 29, from Chiang Rai and Kantapong Kongphaka, 23 from Trang. A weapon was taken into evidence.

They have admitted their involvement and face charges of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

They told police that the victim should not have interfered as it was none of his business. So they taught him a lesson for interfering.

Daily News called it a brazen attack on a foreigner that had damaged the image of Thailand.

Lt Gen Terapon Kuptanond, commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau says, “tourist police had tracked down the accused driver after the JS100 Facebook page posted a story about the tuk-tuk driver collecting a fare of 500 baht each from three American tourists using his service from Nang Loeng intersection to Century Park Hotel, instead of a total of 500 baht as earlier agreed. The trip is less than 5 kilometres.

Driver Boonlert Chadsanam surrendered to police and confessed to the allegations. He also apologised to the three American tourists for his actions.

Somchai Ratchakaew, a senior official from the Land Transport Department, says the driver committed three offences — driving with a suspended licence, punishable by a fine of up to 2,000 baht, driving with an expired licence (another 2,000 baht fine) and collecting a fare exceeding the agreed rate (5,000 baht fine).

Authorities reduced the fines by half due to the driver’s confessions and apology.

Rattanachat Saengyoktrakarn and Maneerat Saengpattarachote made headlines in February 2018 after video clips of their crimes went viral. Public condemnations that flooded their way quickly turned to sympathy, though, after people learned how their family had struggled with the disorderly parking of the customers of surrounding illegal markets.

The owner of the car they attacked, for example, had parked the vehicle right in front of their gate, making it impossible for the family’s vehicle to go into and out of the house.

The Phra Khanong Provincial Court  convicted Rattanachat and Maneerat of damaging the property of another person. However, the court noted that there were grounds for leniency.

“Both have confessed to their crime, which was done out of stress and anger accumulating over a long period of time. As well, they have submitted Bt50,000 in cash to pay the owner of the damaged car,” the court noted.

The court reduced the fine from Bt18,000 each to Bt12,000 each. The standard three-month jail term was reduced to two months, and then suspended given that both defendants had not previously committed a crime.

Mr Thanawat Polvichai, the Director of the University of the Thai Chambers of Commerce’s Center for Economic and Business Forecasting (CEBF) said the center remains confident the number of visitors to Thailand this year will be at 40 million.

He encouraged the government to implement tourism promotion measures as tourism will be a key economic driver this year as the country will be facing with uncertainties from global economic conditions, with current campaigns such as the promotion of tourism in local cities, the extension of VISA on Arrival fees waiver, and tourists safety protection, will help stimulate the growth of Thai tourism sector.

He said the new government will have to urgently improve confidence among investors through economic measures and the appointment of well-accepted economic ministers, and expediting economic stimulating expenditures, which will help the Thai economy to grow in late Q3 through Q4. It is expected the Thai economy in Q3-4 this year will grow at 3.8 percent.

Sixty one year old Herb Elmes (name transliterated from Thai) was found hanging outside a house that he shared with his 40 year old wife Cha-orn Elmes and her younger brother Precha Jaidee, 38.

Image

He was hanging from a nylon cord. Both his hands were secured with cable ties and there was evidence of bruising from injuries to the right side of his rib cage.

Lt Col Yuthana Phuksuk of the Klong Khlung police and rescue services were called to the house in Ban Sap Manao in Wang Sai sub-district.

They determined that Herb had been dead for several hours. After the body was examined locally it was sent to Naret Phitsanuloke for a more detailed autopsy.

Precha gave evidence that the couple had been married for two years. Four days ago they had argued and his sister had gone to Bangkok and not returned. He said that despite living in the same house he had little to do with Herb who kept himself to himself.

It emerged that relatives of the deceased had been contacted by email and had been told that Herb wanted to kill himself as he could not contact his wife.

The relatives contacted their embassy services who contacted the Thais. Through a Wang Sai official the local Phu Yai Ban was contacted and he went to the house to investigate. When he arrived the people there did not know where Herb was and the air-con was on in his bedroom.

A search outside by the chicken coop found him hanging there.

Police want to interview the wife and all concerned and have not ruled out murder in the case. They think this may have been a case of murder with a staged hanging to conceal the crime.

Thai Rath further reported that the couple lived separate lives in the same two story house. They had separate bedrooms and other separate areas and kept themselves to themselves.

They said that Herb was a kindly guy who like to teach the locals language and making robots.

Five people were charged with illegally offering their rooms for daily rental.

One person - who seemed to be a foreigner - was charged with not staying at an address they had previously reported.

Residents at condominiums are furious that facilities they paid for are being used for outsiders such as tourists to enjoy. They claim their safety is also at risk.

Only monthly and longer rentals are legal which led to Thursday's raid.

It was earlier reported that the C Ekkamai had its own check in desk and maid service and people there were flagrantly flouting the law - something the juristic person claimed they were powerless to stop.

The TPB site added that they were looking for the web host who advertised the condos online.
