Crypto Currencies @ Worst Performance Levels Of 2018

November 24, 2018 By Udon Info Admin

Udon Thani News Info Forum Directory Maps Shop CRYPTO CURRENCY BITCOIN

The great cryptocurrency crash of 2018 is heading for its worst week yet.

Bitcoin sank toward US$4,000 and most of its peers tumbled on Friday, extending the Bloomberg Galaxy Crypto Index’s decline since Nov 16 to 23%. That’s the worst weekly slump since cryptomania peaked in early January.

After an epic rally last year that exceeded many of history’s most notorious bubbles, cryptocurrencies have become mired in a nearly $700-billion rout that shows few signs of abating. Many of the concerns that sparked the 2018 retreat — including increased regulatory scrutiny, community infighting and exchange snafus — have only intensified this week.

Even after losses exceeding 70% for most virtual currencies, Stephen Innes of Oanda Corp says he has yet to see strong evidence of a capitulation that would signal a market bottom.

“There’s still a lot of people in this game,” Innes, head of trading for Asia Pacific at Oanda, said from Singapore. If Bitcoin “collapses, if we start to see a run down toward $3,000, this thing is going to be a monster. People will be running for the exits”.

Innes said his base-case forecast is for Bitcoin to trade between $3,500 and $6,500 in the short term, with the potential to fall to $2,500 by January.

The largest cryptocurrency retreated as much as 7.6% on Friday, before paring losses to 3.2% in New York, according to Bloomberg composite pricing. At $4,285, it’s trading close to its the lowest closing level since October 2017. Rivals Ether, XRP and Litecoin all declined at least 4%.

The market value of all cryptocurrencies tracked by CoinMarketCap.com has sunk to $140 billion, down from $835 billion at the market peak in January.

The rout’s biggest casualties: individual investors who piled in just as prices peaked, and companies like Nvidia Corp. that supplied the crypto ecosystem. The California-based chipmaker has lost nearly half its value since the start of October as demand for its cryptocurrency mining chips collapsed and results in its gaming division disappointed. (For more info on this read here: https://www.marketwatch.com/story/crypto-hangover-has-nvidia-staggering-into-holidays-with-a-big-headache-2018-11-15)

The economic impact of the crypto collapse has so far been limited, in part because most major banks and institutional money managers have little to no exposure to virtual currencies.

For most investors, recent declines in equity markets have arguably been far more important: the $700 billion slump in digital assets since January compares with $1.3 trillion lost from the market value of global shares just this week.

While some crypto bulls have argued that Bitcoin and its peers would act as havens from turmoil in traditional financial markets, this year’s losses have undercut those claims. Gold, a traditional haven for investors, has climbed in the past two weeks as virtual currencies tumbled.

“I don’t think coins are going to be anywhere near as attractive as some of the other cross-asset plays,” Innes said. “Gold prices are going to jump considerably higher and there’s an inverse relationship we’re starting to see with gold and coins.”

Chiang Rai Local Chief Caught In Drug Raids

November 24, 2018 By Udon Info Admin

Udon Thani News, Info, Forum | Chiang Rai Local Chief Caught In Drug Raids

Nine suspects, among them one local community leader, were arrested in three drug crackdowns during the past week, the Narcotics Suppression Bureau revealed yesterday.

In the first operation in Chiang Rai’s Wiang Pa Pao district, police apprehended four suspects — Akha Janu, 54, Suwichai Phongthawirat, 23, Jamu Jalu, 21, and Janga Phaya-u, 56.

They were found in possession of 250,000 methamphetamine tablets and a pistol, deputy national police chief Chalermkiat Srivorakhan told the media.

Mr Akha is an ethnic hilltribe man and local politician who currently serves as a deputy chief of tambon Wiang Pa Pao administration organisation.

Prior to the arrests, police received information that the local politician had been operating a gang distributing drugs in Wiang Pa Pao district for some time, he said.

Mr Akha was arrested at a petrol station in Ban Mae Khachan in tambon Mae Chedi. Mr Suwichai and Mr Jamu were later detained outside the office of the tambon Wiang Pa Pao administration organisation.

Mr Janga was later detained outside a technical college in the district while he was waiting to deliver the seized methamphetamine tablets to a buyer, police said.

The four were all charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

In the second case, Pornsak Saesong, 42, and Chuan Saewa, 20 were detained and charged with possession of 48,000 methamphetamine tablets in Phetchabun’s Khao Kho district.

They were arrested while waiting to deliver the drugs to their customers, police said.

In the third operation, carried out in Wang Saphung district of the northeastern province of Loei, three suspects were detained and 204 kilogrammes of dry compressed marijuana was seized from them, police said.

The suspects were identified as Nirut Buathum, 30, Prachuap Buathum, 37, and Boonchuay Khiawphairi, 49. They were charged with possession of cannabis.

The first two suspects were arrested while travelling in two cars transporting the seized marijuana from Loei to Rayong, police said.

Mr Boonchuay was detained while driving alone in Phuluang district, after admitting that he was travelling ahead of the other two suspects to scout the route for trouble, police said.

Thai Woman’s Breast Implant Ruptured During SEX [TV Segment]

November 22, 2018 By Udon Info Admin

Udon Thani News | Thai Gal On TV Show: Breast Implant Ruptured During SEX

Screenshots: Bright TV

A young Thai woman went on TV yesterday to offer what she said was a cautionary tale for the country’s women — the story of how her breast implant ruptured during sex.

The woman, identified only as Preeyaporn, said she had gotten 425cc breast implants from a clinic two years ago. All went well until one year later, Preeyaporn felt pain in her left breast while her boyfriend was touching it during sex.

“I was having sex with my boyfriend — you know, we were playing … like man and woman. He was squeezing it [my left breast] like he normally would,” she said in a phone interview with Bright TV.

“Then my breast was so tender, and I felt a slight burning. He continued to squeeze it,” she said.

What Preeyaporn didn’t realize was that her implant had ruptured. In fact, she didn’t realize it until almost a year later.

As time went by, she said that her left breast started to sag abnormally, and that’s when she sought help.

“I left it for a while … like almost a year. Then I did some research on the internet and found out that my breast implant might have ruptured,” she said.

“My left breast was really saggy. Just one of them.”

Her new doctor, Natchaya Maitreewech, confirmed after a routine checkup that the woman’s implant ruptured, suggesting it may have been caused by a mistake from her former surgeon when stitching her implant.

“Her ruptured implant disfigured her breast. Another factor is she had gotten quite large implants — 425cc — while the skin of her breasts is quite thin,” Dr. Natchaya told Bright TV.

“I’m going to cite research — if great-quality silicone implants are used, most leakages are caused by the stitching. The doctor could have pricked the silicone with a needle. That’s why it ruptured later. In some cases, low-quality silicones can have a leakage after worn for a while.”

“If [ruptured implants] are left for too long, they can cause inflammation,” the doctor said.

In Preeyaporn’s case, the young woman said she has had her breast implant fixed and now recovered from the surgery.

Her final warning: “You have to do lots of research and choose implants that aren’t too big for you, and you must get an ultrasound checkup for your implants every year.”

“Pretty” Drink Presenter “Spiked” @ BKK Club

November 22, 2018 By Udon Info Admin

In an effort to warn potential victims, friends of a Bangkok “Pretty” (a name commonly ascribed to beer-brand-outfitted female drinks presenters, or models) have posted a film of her drugged state. The post has received over 30,000 shares and is still spreading.

Links to the video should surface in coming hours and we will edit here.

Per The Nation:

A 28-year-old alcohol presenter at a Bangkok club claims to have been spiked with a “libido-boosting” substance on Tuesday night.

Praew (not her real name) said she was pouring drinks with four or five Korean customers at her Thong Lor club until it closed. She said she felt drunk and hailed a taxi to a friend’s Ratchadapisek condominium.

She said as she got out of the taxi, she fainted and only regained consciousness the next afternoon.

Her female friend posted photos on Facebook showing her intoxicated at 3am on November 21, as a caution to other women. The post was shared more than 30,000 times. It said it was lucky the victim reached the friend’s apartment in time to avoid possible sexual assault.

She undressed because she was overheating, the post said.

Praew’s friend later commented on the post that she suspected “white tincture”, a tasteless and odourless Category II psychotropic substance that was usually given to horses for breeding, was used to spike Praew’s drink.

Udon Thani News | Bangkok Pretty Spiked

Praew said she was still in shock and afraid. She would apparently talk to the club manager about filing a possible police complaint.

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) deputy secretary-general Dr Surachoke Tangwiwat warned that the “libido-boosting” substances used to spike drinks were not medicines registered with the FDA as they had no medical properties. They were sometimes given to horses for breeding, Surachoke said.

White tincture was mistaken as a “libido booster” because it increased blood circulation resulting in hot flushes, especially in the genitals, where veins gathered, he explained.

Surachoke said possession of such substance that was not registered with FDA is punishable with a Bt5,000 fine or three years in jail.

He said there were no deaths reported from spiking.

3 Thai Airports Now Operating E-Visa Services

November 22, 2018 By Udon Info Admin

BANGKOK POST:  Electronic visa-on-arrival services are now operative at three major airports and will soon be available at two others, according to the immigration bureau.

Acting chief Surachate Hakparn said on Thursday booths had been opened at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang and Phuket airports for visitors who applied in advance for e-visas via the immigration police online service.

The same facility would be ready at Chiang Mai airport next Monday and at Krabi airport in the near future, he said.

Visitors could use the “E-VOA” service at www.evisathailand.com from 1-30 days before arrival and pass through the special lanes in about a minute, instead of waiting in queues an hour or more.

They could fill in the forms and pay visa fees in advance. The service is available for visitors from 21 countries, Pol Maj Gen Surachate said.

Khon Kaen Ganja Seizure Nets Half Ton, Drug Mule Escapes

November 22, 2018 By Udon Info Admin

File Under: Dropped The Weed & Ran Dept….

Khon Kaen police have seized 500 kilograms of marijuana after a pickup truck overturned in Khon Kaen’s Ban Phai district early today. But no arrests have been made as yet.

The Nation reports that Pol Lt Gen Surachai Khuantejakup, commissioner of the Provincial Police Bureau 4, told a press conference that the 500 bars of marijuana were found after the pickup overturned and fell into a roadside ditch at a curve on Ban Phai-Nong Song Hon Road in Ban Nong Tap Tao village in Tambon Pa Por at 4am.

When police arrived at the scene of the crash the pickup driver had already escaped.

Surachai said police had learned that the drugs were smuggled via Nakhon Phanom’s border via Khon Kaen to a southern province.

Surachai said police learned from a tip-off that a gang would try to smuggle a huge amount of marijuana via Khon Kaen so police set up road checkpoints.

He said the pickup driver tried to avoid the main road and used a secondary road to avoid arrest but lost control of his vehicle.
